Margaret River Gourmet Escape 2019

Margaret River Gourmet Escape

Finally, our favourite time of year is almost upon us, Margaret River Gourmet Escape weekend! Time to indulge in the most beautiful food prepared by some of the world’s best chefs, whilst drinking what this region is famous for. Wine wine and more wine.  Gourmet Escape weekend is honestly the most special event and every year we ensure to put some time aside and revel in the deliciousness.

So what’s so amazing about the best foodie event in 2019? Well, not only are some of the biggest names in food involved in this year’s event, such as David Chang, Marco Pierre White, and Pierre Kouffmann; its not just a weekend. Gourmet Escape now extends from events in Perth, the Swan Valley, all the way to Margaret River from November 8th-17th. Happiness and joy!!!

If you find yourself overwhelmed by what event to choose from, then let this little foodie put her two cents in…

Our fabulous friends at Wills Domain Winery have again secured themselves as the best of the best with another win in the WA Good Food Guide. Naming them best Regional Restaurant of the Year and Seth James, head chef (and fellow chardy lover) as best regional chef of the year. Therefore, you’d be crazy not to snap up the remaining tickets for Lake house meets Wills Domain. Alla Wolf-Tasker and James will be teaming up to cook something spectacular.

To say I love Leeuwin Estate’s Art Serious Chardonnay would be an understatement. It is an exquisite example of the Margaret River Region at its best. Creamy, buttery and so very moreish. So, my next pick? The Leeuwin Estate Art Series dinner with Pierre Koffmann. The three Michelin star genius is teaming up with Dan Gedge for a night of inspired local produce and some of the regions best wine.

Final pick? The Caribbean-Australian collaboration with legendary Paul Carmichael of the Momofuku empire and Aaron Carr from Yarri. The intimate tropical feast lunch inspired by the South-West landscape and ingredients should be a delight.

What’s left? Well there’s still tickets left for quite a few events. Not to forget the Gourmet Village fun!  Wandering around, sampling this years vintage from a myriad of local wineries whilst snacking on delectable gourmet yumminess? That’ll do. That’ll do nicely.

And, if  you’re looking for some beautiful accommodation for your Margaret River Gourmet Escape stay? Bina Maya’s Residence still has some availability.

Enjoy!!
